Management & Training Corporation (MTC) in Marion, Ohio, seeks a licensed RN to join our medical team at the North Central Correctional Complex. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to manage residents’ health needs.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Ohio license.
• Must work within Ohio State Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Attend sick calls with physicians to see residents and prepare examining room.
• Call physician for medication and treatment orders and other emergencies.
• Administer medication and document treatment per policies and procedures.
• Examine and assess residents with illnesses or injuries; refer to ER as needed and document in medical records.
• Maintain a clean work area and sanitation methods.
• Practice cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations.
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical records under HIPAA rules.
• Review medical files to ensure all provided services are documented accurately.

Essential Duties:

• Attend sick calls with physicians to see residents, preparing examining room and equipment.
• Call the physician for medication and treatment orders and other emergencies.
• Administer medication and accurately and completely document treatment as required by applicable policies and procedures.
• Examine and assess residents with illnesses or injuries or residents who become ill or injured; confer with physician to refer residents to the emergency room as required by their condition and document in medical record or other forms as appropriate.
• Maintain clean work area; use or direct the use of appropriate sanitation methods.
• Practice basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules.
• Review medical files to determine all provided services are documented accurately and completely.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
• Degree in nursing and current valid nursing license in the state of Ohio required.
• Must work within Ohio State Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
• Must possess current CPR certification.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
• Must successfully complete all annual in-service requirements.
