Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center, part of Trinity Health, seeks a night-shift Registered Nurse (RN) for its Float Team in Telemetry. You will provide direct patient care, document assessments, and coordinate with the Interprofessional Rounds to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN, PA RN license in PA, and AHA BLS certification, with at least three years in critical care to contribute to a busy, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• BSN from accredited school required.
• PA RN License required in Pennsylvania.
• AHA BLS required.
• 3 years of experience in critical care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs and incorporates education into daily care.
• Documents admissions assessments, plan, interventions, and medication use.
• Utilizes information systems to communicate changes in patient condition and coordinates care.
• Communicates patient responsibility transfers during bedside rounds.
• Recognizes patient needs and refers abuse, aligns with infection control standards.
• Includes pain management and supportive care in the plan of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
