Job Details
- Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
- Hiring Range: $52.50 - $57.50
- Schedule Details: Holidays – One Major Summer Holiday, One Major Winter Holiday; Weekends – One full weekend per month
- Scheduled Hours: varies
- Shift: 4 – Mixed Shift, 8 Hours (U.S.)

Responsibilities
- Utilizes the Nursing Process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge, appropriate to developmental age.
- Performs patient assessment and reassessment according to standard procedures.
- Develops and coordinates individual care plans including discharge planning.
- Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
- Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
- Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
- Develops, implements and documents education plans for patient/family/significant other.
- Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
- Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy; assists physician with treatment, procedures and special tests as required.
- Participates in and supports nursing governance activities.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth; assists in education and development of staff.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates quality improvement in daily operations.
Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities
- Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
- Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required.
- Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates standards of respect, and contributes to a professional, tolerant, civil and accepting environment.
- Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS required for every RN unless ACLS is current, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies.
- BSN highly preferred.
Experience & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing.
- Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Licensing & Certifications
- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS within 6 months or first scheduled course in select areas.
- PALS within 6 months or first scheduled course in select areas.
- NRP Advanced Provider within 6 months or first scheduled course in select areas.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Work is considered medium. Position requires indoor patient care environment.
