Job summary

The Staff Pad, in partnership with a leading Helena hospital, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a Float Pool on the Night Shift. You’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple specialty units in a dynamic, compassionate team.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, clinically strong, and eager to grow their skills while supporting a patient-first system in a reputable healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Must hold Montana RN license (active).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care RN experience.
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities within a Float Pool/Patient Care Services role.
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced settings.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Certification in Med/Surg and/or Geriatric Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver patient- and family-centered care across multiple units.
• Collect, verify, and organize patient health information to support decisions.
• Deliver direct patient care in a clinical setting with collaboration to ensure quality outcomes.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain timely documentation per policy.
• Collaborate with physicians and teams to promote a patient-focused care environment.
• Maintain competency to support Behavioral Health CDI, ICU as second RN, or Women's & Children's Services as needed.
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and clinical environments.

What You’ll Do

• Apply the nursing process to deliver high-quality, patient- and family-centered care across multiple units through assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collect, verify, and organize patient health information to support informed clinical decisions and effective treatment.
• Deliver direct patient care in a clinical setting while collaborating closely with the Unit Director, Manager, and Charge Nurse to ensure quality outcomes.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and cross-functional teams to promote a positive and patient-focused care environment.
• Maintain competency and flexibility to support multiple specialty areas, including Behavioral Health Clinical Decision Unit, Either Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as the second RN, or Women's & Children's Services (Couplet Care and Pediatric Psych).
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and clinical environments.

What We’re Looking For

• Active Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum of two years of acute care RN experience required
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities within a Float Pool/Patient Care Services role
