Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Float Pool to provide care across multiple inpatient units. You will rotate through Medical-Surgical, ICU/Telemetry, and Emergency Department as needed, delivering high-quality nursing care in a flexible schedule.

Requirements include a CT RN license (or compact), current BLS and ACLS, and 2–3 years of acute care experience with Med-Surg exposure. BSN preferred and orientation/competency validation provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license or multi-state (NLC).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications for Float Pool.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across multiple inpatient areas using the nursing process.
• Accept assignments based on demonstrated competency and staffing needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection prevention standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by transitioning between units while maintaining quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement and department education.
• Serve as a clinical resource and promote teamwork across departments.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
