Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Paris is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Float Pool on the 6p-6a night shift. The role includes rotating weekends, a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, and leadership as a resource for staff after hours.

The RN will document care, administer medications, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians and families to ensure high-quality patient care. Kentucky license and ADN are required; ACLS/PALS preferred; 2+ years bedside RN experience.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license is required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Two years minimum bedside RN experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to the care team and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, nutrition, ambulation).
• Floats to multiple departments to support care delivery.
• Coordinates care with transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Provides patient/family education and psychosocial support.

Centerpoint Health - Paris, formerly Bourbon Community Hospital, is a 58-bed acute care facility in the heart of the Bluegrass. The medical staff consists of 140 physicians covering 22 specialties. Centerpoint Health - Paris also offers services in Behavioral Health consisting of a 33-bed inpatient facility. Our multi-disciplinary approach enlists the services of a dedicated team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, and Kentucky certified teachers. Our Behavioral Health department also utilizes certified therapy dogs in the healing process when applicable.

Our Float RNs are adaptable professionals with diverse expertise. They float to almost all areas of the hospital and must be able to adjust to what's needed quickly.

How you'll contribute:

Provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility. Reports to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call.

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assess learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred; Handle with Care preferred.2 years minimum bedside RN experience required
