Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to support ICU and Tele units. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and collaboration across disciplines. Expect to provide rounds, assessments, treatments, and education for patients and families.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure, at least 2 years of experience, and a BSN or ADN with pathway to a BSN within 5 years. This on-site position offers diverse shifts and a commitment to nursing excellence.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
• 2 years RN experience
• BSN from an accredited college/university or ADN with 10 years experience; if ADN, enrollment in BSN within 12 months and degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
• 2 years RN experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and less than ten years’ experience, an Associate Degree in Nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
