Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Float between Medical Care Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and IMC/PCU to cover unit needs.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical and progressive care patients.
• Monitor Vital signs, recognize acute changes, and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate care plans with physicians, specialists, and allied staff for safe discharge.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and home care steps.
• Maintain accurate EMR records in accordance with standards.

Job Title: Float Pool Registered Nurse (Med/Surg & Progressive Care / PCU)

We are seeking a versatile and adaptable Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support dynamic patient care needs across multiple acute care units. In this role, you will apply the nursing process to deliver direct patient care, provide patient education, respond to clinical emergencies, and seamlessly transition between medical, surgical, and step-down environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Float Pool Coverage: Adapt dynamically to shifting unit needs by floating between the Medical Care Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU).
• Comprehensive Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical-surgical and progressive care patients.
• Emergency Response: Monitor vital signs, recognize acute changes in patient condition, and respond swiftly to crises and emergency situations.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care plans with physicians, specialists, and allied healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient outcomes and safe discharge planning.
• Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their support systems regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Med/Surg Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated Medical/Surg clinical nursing experience [Required].
• Hospital Experience: Recent hospital-based acute care experience within the last 5 years [Required].
• Float Requirement: Demonstrated willingness and ability to float between Medical, Post-Surgical, and Intermediate Care/PCU units [Required].
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
• Certifications:
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
