Medlinkhealth Anesthesia Associates is seeking a flexible Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care units. You will float across Medical, Post-Surgical, and IMC/PCU, delivering direct patient care, patient education, and timely EMR documentation.

The role requires 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing in a hospital setting, an active RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure safe discharge planning.

Job Title:

Float Pool Registered Nurse (Med/Surg & Progressive Care / PCU)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and adaptable Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support dynamic patient care needs across multiple acute care units. In this role, you will apply the nursing process to deliver direct patient care, provide patient education, respond to clinical emergencies, and seamlessly transition between medical, surgical, and step-down environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Float Pool Coverage: Adapt dynamically to shifting unit needs by floating between the Medical Care Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU).
• Comprehensive Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical-surgical and progressive care patients.
• Emergency Response: Monitor vital signs, recognize acute changes in patient condition, and respond swiftly to crises and emergency situations.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care plans with physicians, specialists, and allied healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient outcomes and safe discharge planning.
• Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their support systems regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Med/Surg Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated Medical/Surg clinical nursing experience [Required].
• Hospital Experience: Recent hospital-based acute care experience within the last 5 years [Required].
• Float Requirement: Demonstrated willingness and ability to float between Medical, Post-Surgical, and Intermediate Care/PCU units [Required].
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
• Certifications:
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
• Core Competencies: High flexibility, strong clinical prioritization skills, excellent de-escalation/crisis management, and a collaborative attitude.
