Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA seeks a competent nurse to provide independent care in a clinical setting, practicing the nursing process and collaborating with care teams. This per diem role offers exposure to routine and complex patient needs.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting care, addressing education for patients and families, and supporting ongoing care plans with delegated tasks as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or care givers.
