Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA seeks a competent registered nurse who can practice independently in the same or similar clinical setting and provide routine and complex care while working toward long-range goals and contingencies.

You will apply the nursing process, address patient and family needs, administer medications and treatments, document care, assess learning needs, and provide education to patients and caregivers. This is a full-time role with a 7 AM–7 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
