Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Louisiana seeks a competent Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a clinical setting. The nurse will work independently, perform nursing assessments, plan and implement care, and delegate tasks as appropriate to other care providers to maintain effective patient management.

Role requires applying the nursing process, addressing psychosocial needs, administering treatments, documenting care, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers.
