Job summary

The nurse will administer medications per protocol, document care, and address diverse patient and family needs. A BSN is preferred; 1 year of related nursing experience is desired; BLS and RN licensure (state or compact) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 1 year in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers; identifies learning needs and resources.
