Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a perioperative nurse to join our operating room team. You will perform circulating and scrub duties, assist with pre- and postoperative assessments, and ensure patient safety and privacy.

You must hold an RN license with perioperative nursing experience; BLS is required, CNOR/CRNFA preferred. This full-time role offers day shifts, competitive pay, a $10k sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Job Description:

• Assures appropriate traffic control in the operating room.
• Initiates the incident reporting mechanisms when indicated.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes appropriate channels of communication when initiating change, reporting information or concerns.
• Promotes and contributes positively to intra and interdepartmental relations.
• Assists with the orientation of new employees and assumes unit responsibility when delegated by the nursing manager or director.
• Performs specialized nursing care in all phases of the peri-operative role.
• Assists with pre-and postoperative assessment of the patient and updates preference cards as needed.
• Performs surgical counts per policy and prepares operating room setup.
• Recognizes abnormal diagnostic laboratory data, blood gas values, radiologic data, and knows the implied significance of each.
• Recognizes emergency situations and reacts efficiently and appropriately.
• Assures patients' right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality at all times.

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]

Field of Study:

Work Experience:

• 1+ of general nursing experience in an acute care setting. [Preferred]
• 2+ of nursing experience in the required specialty [Preferred]
• 2+ years circulating and/or scrub experience required in a multi-specialty setting.[Preferred]
