Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking an experienced perioperative RN to support operating room activities in a fast-paced setting. The role requires assisting with pre- and postoperative assessments, OR setup, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

The candidate should have RN licensure, perioperative nursing skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with surgeons and medical staff. A competitive benefits package is included.

Job Description:

• Assures appropriate traffic control in the operating room.
• Initiates the incident reporting mechanisms when indicated.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes appropriate channels of communication when initiating change, reporting information or concerns.
• Promotes and contributes positively to intra and interdepartmental relations.
• Assists with the orientation of new employees and assumes unit responsibility when delegated by the nursing manager or director.
• Performs specialized nursing care in all phases of the peri-operative role.
• Assists with pre-and postoperative assessment of the patient and updates preference cards as needed.
• Performs surgical counts per policy and prepares operating room setup.
• Recognizes abnormal diagnostic laboratory data, blood gas values, radiologic data, and knows the implied significance of each.
• Recognizes emergency situations and reacts efficiently and appropriately.
• Assures patients' right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality at all times.

Work Experience:

• - 1+ of general nursing experience in an acute care setting. [Preferred]
• - 2+ of nursing experience in the required specialty [Preferred]
• - 2+ years circulating and/or scrub experience required in a multi-specialty setting. [Preferred]
