Job summary

Live Well Homecare is seeking a highly capable RN First Assistant to support surgeons intraoperatively and participate in pre- and post-operative care in Belleville, IL.

The role requires an active RN license with 2–5 years of perioperative experience. CNOR certification is preferred, and you will collaborate closely with the perioperative team to develop care plans, monitor patient responses, and advocate for patient safety throughout the surgical pathway.

Job description

Role Overview: Performs an expanded perioperative role as a First Assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures, providing direct patient care and collaborating with the perioperative team. The RNFA assesses patients pre-operatively, analyzes data to determine diagnoses, and communicates patient outcomes throughout the perioperative process. Responsibilities include delivering intraoperative care, monitoring patient responses, administering medications, and developing individualized care plans. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and quality of care, with ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and advocacy for patient safety.

Qualifications & Skills:

• RN license with 2-5 years of experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Certifications: Certified Nurse First Assistant (CNOR, CERTIFIED RN FIRST ASSIST) preferred
