Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an experienced RN transitioning to an Emergency Department Fellowship starting March 2027. Eligible nurses will qualify for sign-on and relocation bonuses.

The program supports nurses in becoming ED specialists within a Magnet-recognized system that prioritizes safety and superior patient experience. The role is full-time, nights (7pm–7am) with weekend rotations and call; orientation includes cross-shift exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• If you have an ADN, you must meet with your nurse leader within 2 years to outline BSN plan and timeline, and complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Must be RN licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia; BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable clinical practice and care coordination through patient, family, nurse, and care delivery teams.
• Deliver patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
• Apply standard guidelines and pathways to guide care delivery.
• Coordinate care to support positive patient outcomes.

Emergency Room Nurse Fellow Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience:A minimum ofone yearas a Registered Nurse.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License/Certification:Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN. BLS from American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience:candidates will possess 2 years of critical care / acute care experience.
• Certifications: CEN/ACLS
• Other: Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required.
