Registered Nurse, Express Care, Days, Full-Time(Express Care)

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Rural Health Express Care Clinic provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This position supports providers by performing triage, clinical assessments, procedures, documentation, and patient education. The RN plays a critical role in delivering accessible healthcare services for minor illnesses and injuries, health screenings, and follow-up care in a rural community-focused environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform patient triage and clinical assessments for walk-in visits, prioritizing care based on acuity.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and diagnostic testing.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as ordered.
• Accurately document patient encounters and vital information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
• Perform CLIA-waived lab testing and assist with specimen collection and handling.
• Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clinic team members to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Assist with supply management, equipment checks, and maintaining exam room readiness.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Current BLS & ACLS certification
• Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in urgent care, family practice, emergency care, or outpatient settings
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
