Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith is seeking experienced ER registered nurses for PRN shifts in a high-acuity emergency department that has expanded its ER and ICU capacity. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Active RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Experience: 1 year ER experience required for PRN.
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC or unit-specific certifications may be required.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details:

Mercy Fort Smithhas undergone a $162 million expansion of its ER and ICU. The ER has expanded from 29 to 50 rooms, and the ICU went from 38 to 64 rooms. This expansion enabled approximately 25,000 additional patient visits per year. This significant development allows us to better meet the needs of our community in a world-class environment.

Seeking experienced ER RN's for PRN

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience: 1 Year ER experience required for PRN

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required

Staffing Ratios:

• 3:1 ratios on high acuity; with 4:1 as needed.

Transfers:

• The only cases that are transferred out are complex ortho, major burns, and certain neurosurgery. Everything else stays in house.
