Job summary

CornerStone Medical is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Emergency Department in Henderson, NC. This 13-week night shift contract runs 7pm to 7am and offers competitive pay at $60.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (NC)
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience
• Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
• Experience with peripheral IV insertion, stroke care, sepsis management, STEMI/acute cardiac care
• Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, rural ED (20 beds)

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in the emergency department.
• Rapidly assess and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Monitor patients closely and identify changes requiring intervention.
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and administer medications per orders.
• Educate patients and families on treatment, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Paragon EHR.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient-safety standards.
• Support a team-oriented, fast-paced emergency care environment.

Registered Nurse ER Nights Henderson, NC 13 Week contract Nights 7pm- 7am $60.00/hour CornerStone Medical is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for a diverse patient population in a rural emergency setting and possess strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to emergency department patients.
• Rapidly assess and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition requiring immediate intervention.
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Provide care for patients experiencing stroke, sepsis, STEMI, and other acute/emergent conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Paragon EHR.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, emergency nursing standards, and patient-safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.
• Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of: Peripheral IV insertion Stroke care Sepsis management STEMI/acute cardiac care Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, 20 bed high-acuity rural Emergency Department.
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, prioritization, and teamwork skills.

Schedule & Requirements

• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Must work 6 weekend shifts during each 6-week period
• No call requirement
• Flexibility to respond to changing patient volumes and acuity is essential.
