Job summary

MedCadre seeks a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department to deliver rapid, high‑quality care in a fast‑paced setting. You will assess and stabilize patients with acute illnesses and injuries, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure timely interventions.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in Wisconsin, ADN or BSN, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ED experience. TNCC may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Wisconsin.
• Graduate of an ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• TNCC certification preferred or required based on assignment.
• Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing and critical care principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage using protocols.
• Develop and implement individualized emergency care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Assist with trauma care, resuscitations, and codes.
• Operate cardiac monitors, ventilators, and other emergency equipment.
• Collect specimens and assist with bedside diagnostics.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharges.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate care.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) to provide exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ED RN will assess, prioritize, stabilize, and treat patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver timely, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for emergency patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
• Assist with trauma care, resuscitations, code blue events, and emergency procedures
• Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other emergency equipment
• Collect specimens, perform diagnostic testing, and assist with bedside procedures
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred or required based on assignment
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, cardiac monitoring, emergency medications, and critical care principles
• Excellent assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
