Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking an Emergency Room RN for a travel assignment in Coastal Virginia, near Virginia Beach and Norfolk. The role requires 3+ years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience, with active Virginia or Compact RN licensure and Epic EHR proficiency.

Shifts include 3x12 or 4x12-hour options, with every-other-weekend, holidays, and floating as per contract. 48-hour contracts are available; discuss preferences at submission.

Emergency Room RN

Location

Located in the scenic Coastal Virginia area, just minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk, this region offers abundant outdoor activities including hiking trails suitable for all skill levels and over 20 waterways to explore.

Assignment Details

Schedule: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts

Every other weekend, floating shifts, and holidays as outlined in the contract are required.

48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours; please specify the candidate's preference upon submission.

Patient Ratios

Typical ratio: 1:4

Ratio may increase to 1:6 when caring for Medical-Surgical hold patients

Stroke patients receive 1:1 assignment until admission or completion of the tPA treatment window

STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are assigned 1:1

No psychiatric patients are included

Minimum Requirements

At least 3 years of Emergency Department experience

Previous travel nursing experience required

Active Virginia or Compact RN license must be held at the time of submission; no exceptions

Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system is mandatory
