This position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. It involves collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet patient needs. The role may include delegating aspects of care within the scope of nursing practice. Typically, departments operate Monday through Friday with little or no on-call time on weekends.

Job Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• New hires must obtain BSN within 5 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Specialty certification within two years of assuming the position
• Registered Nurse license
• Knowledge of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences

Job Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families, document findings, and communicate with healthcare team
• Develop and update care plans based on assessments, standards of care, and patient input
• Provide a safe, respectful, and ethical environment, recognizing emergency situations and taking appropriate action
• Evaluate and revise care plans based on patient outcomes and responses
• Administer medications and treatments safely, using appropriate equipment
• Train and educate staff and act as an expert resource in the specialty area
• Maintain current knowledge and demonstrate organizational responsibilities
