Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a GI Lab RN to deliver comprehensive care in the surgical and outpatient GI lab environment. You will assess patients, plan and implement care, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license in good standing, BCLS, ACLS within 30 days, and at least one year in acute care or GI settings. This is a part-time, day-shift position with a sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience in acute care or GI lab.
• Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in GI lab and surgical/outpatient settings.
• Communicate patient status and results with physicians and nursing team.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and participate in performance improvement.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

The GI LAB RN is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the Shift Nursing Supervisor. Responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care for the Medical-Surgical Outpatient and/or Inpatients receiving surgical and/or invasive procedure through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescents, adults and older adults. Communicates with physicians, co-workers and/or nursing director, as appropriate about the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatololgy. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Works with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to provide continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Minimum of one year experience in an acute care or outpatient surgery setting or G.I. lab.
5. Completed Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days upon hire required.
