Job Profile Summary
This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. It involves performing clinical nurse duties such as assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of a designated patient group or providing nursing care and clinical support tasks within the scope of practice to achieve the patient’s care plan. The role requires a nursing license. It is a professional individual contributor role that may involve directing lower-level professionals or managing processes and programs. Most of the time is spent overseeing the design, implementation, or delivery of processes, programs, and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. This is a senior-level role that requires advanced knowledge of the job area, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities include managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals, and resolving complex problems.
Job Overview

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
3. Certifications relevant to the department and care provided (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
2. Specialty nursing certifications.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below describe the general nature of work and are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Utilize evidence-based knowledge to partner with patients and families in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care.
2. Collaborate with patients, families, and other disciplines to identify expected outcomes, considering cultural needs, to develop a care plan that enhances the healthcare experience.
3. Develop individualized, outcomes-based care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary meetings, and facilitate communication regarding the care and discharge plan, ensuring seamless transitions and utilizing principles of project and systems management.
4. Implement the care plan safely and timely, document modifications, collaborate with colleagues, utilize evidence-based interventions, and provide health education to maintain optimal health levels.
5. Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and update the care plan based on patient responses and outcomes.
6. Demonstrate critical thinking and apply skills to implement nursing care, incorporating research and new knowledge to improve practices and provide culturally sensitive care.
7. Perform procedures and treatments according to standards and guidelines.
8. Administer medications safely, assess patient responses, and utilize pharmacological knowledge.
9. Maintain competency with technology and equipment.
10. Serve as an advocate and educator for patients and families.
11. Provide high-quality care efficiently and safely, using data trends to support clinical practice improvements.
12. Participate in safety and quality initiatives, supporting patient outcomes and safety standards.
13. Engage in performance improvement activities through data collection and analysis.
14. Promote quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
15. Foster collaborative relationships among disciplines to ensure effective care and a positive work environment, participating in rounds and reporting.
16. Delegate responsibilities appropriately, understanding team members' roles and capabilities.
17. Lead service excellence by establishing a supportive environment, respecting diversity, and managing resources responsibly.
18. Commit to professional development, maintaining licensure, pursuing certifications, mentoring, and utilizing technology for evidence-based practice.
19. May assume charge nurse responsibilities in collaboration with leadership.
20. Facilitate effective communication, uphold professional conduct, and participate in staff meetings and ongoing education.
