About The Endoscopy Suite At Boston Medical Center
The Endoscopy suites consist of 7 procedural rooms that care for pediatric and adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings for various endoscopic procedures. Highly skilled nurses provide pre-procedural, intra-procedural, and post-procedural care, which can include moderate sedation or working in tandem with anesthesia colleagues.
Position: Registered Nurse
Department: Endoscopy
Schedule: 30 hours, Day/Evening
Position Summary: The registered nurse adheres to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations. The role involves nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the healthcare continuum. The nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes, following established policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice.
Education: Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required: Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts. Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be required for some units. PALS certification is preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire.
