Job summary

Join HCA HealthONE Swedish's Emergency Room Float Pool in the Denver metro area. As a Registered Nurse, you will float to Swedish Main ER, Belmar Freestanding ER, and Southwest Freestanding ER, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple sites.

You will collaborate with the care team to assess, treat, and educate patients, rotate to different ER services as needed, and adhere to the HealthONE RN Super Pool criteria. BSN preferred with 2+ years ER RN experience.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire date.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.
  • 2 or more years of Emergency Room RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients. Each service also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, andwill perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at Swedish/Southwest ER/Belmar ER. The registered nurse will follow the criteria set forth by the HealthONE RN Super Pool criteria and must float between multiple facilities/campuses.

  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).

  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire date.
