Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high‑quality care across ages from newborns to geriatrics in a fast‑paced ED. The role includes triage, treatment, discharge planning, and education, with emphasis on patient safety and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in the state of practice, and current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice is required
• BLS certification is required
• ACLS certification is required
• PALS certification is required
• TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer

Responsibilities

• Conduct complete and accurate triage assessments on all patients and promptly notify the Emergency MD of abnormal findings.
• Review and complete patient orders in a timely manner.
• Provide medication side-effect education to all patients and ensure this information is included in discharge instructions.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and act appropriately 100% of the time.
• Execute appropriate nursing interventions for both stable and emergent patient situations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in routine nursing skills, including medication administration and intravenous therapy.
• Maintain competence in managing medical equipment used in critical care settings.
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life‑threatening emergencies.
• Participate effectively during emergency scenarios including Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations.
• Complete legible, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with standards.
