Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Float Registry at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center in Lake Geneva, WI. The role requires bedside assessment, planning, and evaluation with a commitment of at least 48 hours per month and two weekend shifts, plus seasonal holiday coverage.

New hires must graduate from an accredited nursing program with ADN required and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• RN license in state of practice; CPR/BLS within 90 days; other unit certifications as required.

Responsibilities

## Registered Nurse- Emergency Department - Float RegistryApply: Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center - Lake Geneva, WI: Full time: Posted Today: 2026-03331**OVERVIEW** The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, individualized patient care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team. **SCHEDULE:** This is a float registry position with a minimum commitment of 48-hours per month, including a minimum of two weekend shifts per month, plus one summer and one winter holiday. This commitment will add a 10% wage incentive to the calculated hourly rate of pay. This position will be primarily set for this location in Lake Geneva, WI. You must be able and willing to float to other ED locations within the system as licensed for WI/IL.**SHIFT:** Variable, typically 12-hour shifts **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.* Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.* Documents according to standards of care.* Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.* Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.* Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.* Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.* Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.* Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process. **EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**Graduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines) **CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE**Licensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements.
