Job summary

Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN is seeking an RN - ED to assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional nursing care, and to provide supervision of unlicensed staff. The role requires current RN licensure in MN, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, PALS/ENPC within 6 months, TNCC within 1 year, NIHSS within 6 months, and preferred ED experience.

This is a .6 FTE position with 3p-3:30a shifts and every 3rd weekend, offering opportunities to coordinate care with physicians and allied health

Qualifications

• BLS - American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of start date if not present at hire.
• PALS / ENPC certification within 6 months of start date if not present at hire.
• TNCC certification within one year of start date if not present at hire.
• NIHSS within 6 months of start date.
• 1 year of ED RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

As an RN - ED you will assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the provider's medical orders; to assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient his/her family, health professionals and important others; to perform related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

.6 FTE, 3p-3:30a, Every 3rd weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with current enrollment in Associate or Bachelor of Nursing degree program or Registered Nursing Certificate (post baccalaureate degree).
• Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry
• Registered nurses re-entering the nursing field, who have not completed 520 hours of nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course to qualify for employment. Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
• ACLS certification required from AHA within 6 months of start date if not present at hire
• PALS / ENPC certification required within 6 months of start date if not present at hire
• TNCC certification required within one year of start date if not present at hire
• NIHSS within 6 months of start date
• 1 year of ED RN experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Nursing
• Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program
• Specialty Certification in the RN's area of expertise (e.g. CCRN, PCCN, CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, etc)
