Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, perform and evaluate nursing activities to meet the needs of patients. The role promotes safety, compassionate care, and optimal patient/family experience through teamwork with interdisciplinary staff on the assigned unit.

You will complete assessments, address holistic needs, coordinate care plans, provide treatments and education, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family.
• Formulates and coordinates plan of care including education and discharge planning.
• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care accordingly.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team to resolve patient needs.
• Participates in unit-based decision-making and quality/safety education.
