Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges to practice in applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and acts as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution with the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ensures ethical, unbiased patient care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
• Provide age-appropriate care and consider life-span development in patient assessments.
