Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, in collaboration with the care team to improve patient outcomes. The role emphasizes safety, documentation in the EHR, and adherence to evidence-based practices within a fast-paced environment.

The RN will participate in professional governance, yield strong communication, and engage in ongoing development while maintaining required certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license in the state(s) where services are provided; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and delegates appropriately within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications (BSN preferred).
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making in patient care.
• Appropriately delegates to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient needs across the lifecycle.
