Job summary

Valid8 Financial, Inc. is seeking a Hemodialysis Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care in an outpatient dialysis setting under supervision.

This role covers start-up and operation of dialysis machines, patient monitoring, medication administration, and precise charting of treatments. Qualified applicants will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license; outpatient hemodialysis experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in outpatient hemodialysis setting preferred (one year).

Responsibilities

• Start-up, set-up, operation, rinse and disinfection of dialysis machines.
• Priming of dialyzers including safety checks for reuse.
• Pre- and post-dialysis nursing evaluation and sign-off on treatment records.
• Initiates and discontinues dialysis treatment for assigned patients.
• Monitor patients during dialysis, including vital signs and machine checks; provide emergency intervention.
• Administer medications per physician order.
• Maintain neat and legible treatment documentation.
• Implement and sign-off physician orders.
• Clean dialysis machines, chairs, and related equipment.
• Perform routine and non-routine EKG monitoring when on-site monitor/defibrillator is available.
• Maintain BLS CPR certification and AED operation when prompted.

A Hemodialysis Nurse is a qualified Registered Nurse who performs patient care and related duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor or Facility Administrator, including assisting and supervising Hemodialysis Technicians.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse
• Training and/or experience (one year preferred) in an outpatient hemodialysis setting

Job Specific Accountabilities

1. 1. Start-up, set-up, operation, rinse and disinfection of dialysis machines.
2. 2. Priming of dialyzers including all safety checks related to the reuse of dialyzers.
3. 3. Pre- and post-dialysis nursing evaluation of patients, including sign-off after each dialysis shift on treatment records
4. 4. Initiates and discontinues dialysis treatment on all assigned patients.
5. 5. Monitors patients throughout their hemodialysis treatment including vital signs, machine checks, emergency intervention
6. 6. Administration of medications to patients per physician order.
7. 7. Neat and legible charting of treatment information, meds, routine tests, etc. per procedure.
8. 8. Implementation and signs-off physician orders.
9. 9. Cleaning of dialysis machines, patient chairs and other ancillary equipment as needed.
10. 10. Routine and non-routine EKG monitoring for symptomatic patients if there is a monitor or defibrillator on site.
11. 11. Maintains Basic Life Support CPR Certification which includes CPR and other resuscitative measures as indicated and operation of the AED where appropriate as prompted in emergency situations.
