Hendricks Behavioral Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care within our psychiatric health-care facility. The role involves documenting patient information, monitoring changes, and administering medications during the 7:00am–7:30pm shifts, three days per week.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, Indiana RN license, CPR certification, and 3+ years in psychiatric settings preferred; CPI/ restraint

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as an RN.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• CPR certification and completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior including restraint and seclusion within 90 days, prior to restraining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care through the nursing process and collaboration with health team members.
• Document patient information and nursing care in patient records.
• Reassess any significant changes in patient condition per facility policy.
• Report signs of infection to Infection Control Nurse and verify accuracy of patient records.
• Employ CPI techniques as necessary and accurately administer medications.
