Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation in Largo, MD, is hiring a full-time Day Shift Registered Nurse for our UM Capital Region Medical Center. This role requires at least 1 year of nursing experience, Maryland RN licensure, and a current BLS certificate. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available.

The nurse will provide independent care, coordinate with the care team, and participate in unit-level performance improvement and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN licensure or eligible via MD Compact
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• Diploma in nursing or ADN required
• Current BLS certification
• Maintenance of mandatory training and hours every two years
• Recent clinical experience in a comparable setting

Responsibilities

• Provide independent care to unit patient population and act as clinical resource
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team ensuring patient/family needs are met
• Support unit quality initiatives and regulatory compliance
• Assist in development of unit clinical practice protocols and standards
• Serve as preceptor or mentor to new nurses and students
