CVOR Registered Nurse Position
Shift Details
Weekday shifts, 4x10 hour schedule
Call and holiday coverage required
Call requirement: 90-120 hours of call within a 6-week rotation
Position Requirements
- Scrub role not required for this CVOR position
- First-time travelers accepted if they have Level 1 Trauma experience
- Required certification: BCLS
- Must have experience circulating in a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Essential skills include heart/lung transplant, valve replacement, aortic dissection, and preparing pump lines from perfusion for cannulation
- Core 5 competencies: Must have 3s and 4s in cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, heart, and lung transplant cases
Licensing and Residency
- Local travelers with permanent residence in Indiana will be offered a rate below the current bill rate
- Candidates with an Indiana or Compact license in hand, or who have submitted their fingerprint application package, are eligible to apply
Unit and Patient Census
- Average daily census: 70-80 patients
- Number of rooms: 24
Unit and Equipment Details
- Operating Room nurses need to be well-rounded and current in most areas except cardiovascular and transplant, as they will be floated as needed.
- Special equipment includes DaVinci XI robotic system.
Policy Update Effective 11/30/24
- Registered nurses licensed in Indiana will not be permitted to work at the facilities after this date, with the following exceptions:
- Perioperative/OR RNs, Allied Health, and Ambulatory RNs who are travelers are exempt and may continue working past the deadline.
- Perioperative includes Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology RNs, PACU, Cath Lab RNs, and Same Day Surgery.
