The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current NYS RN license, and BSN preferred with commitment to continuing education. You will collaborate with the health team to provide high-quality patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; must enroll in accredited program within 24 months and obtain BSN within five years.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: collects and organizes patient data using all resources; examines patient to determine physical status; records patient condition.
• Planning: formulates a care plan with priorities; collaborates with health team; identifies educational needs.
• Implementation: delivers care with patient dignity; administers medications per policy; uses asepsis; involves patient and family as appropriate.
• Evaluation: uses current data to measure progress toward goals; initiates nursing actions if needed; evaluates teaching with patient.
• Documentation: writes admission notes, nursing care plans, and discharge summaries; uses graphic/flow sheets when pertinent.
• Professional Implications: makes decisions with sound judgment; participates in policy review; serves on committees; follows Universal Precautions.
