Job summary

Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center in Aulander, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide bedside and clinic support in our dental and primary care setting. The role reports to the Nurse Manager and requires strong clinical skills, assessment ability, and clear communication with patients and staff.

The RN will work on-site, support diverse patient populations, and participate in quality care delivery within established RCCHC policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate competencies in nursing practice and utilization of the nursing process.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skill to provide clinical care.
• Must understand growth and development across the lifespan and assess patient data accordingly.
• Must have effective communication, initiative, problem-solving ability, accountability, flexibility, stress management, and basic computer skills.
• Must be flexible and willing to work at different locations as needed.
• Must have computer skills.
• Must work with all patient populations and maintain confidentiality.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize nursing actions reflecting patient needs and acuity.
• Provide patient care based on scientific principles and evidence-based practice.
• Review data collection and assess patient needs for service.
• Collaborate with providers and other staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications/immunizations as ordered and monitor for reactions.
• Perform EKGs, draw blood, and prepare specimens as required.
• Complete paperwork for assigned providers per RCCHC guidelines.
• Contribute to care coordination and follow-up actions with the provider.
