Job summary

RCCHC is seeking a Lab/Clinical Support Assistant to join the Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center team in Ahoskie, NC. This on-site position supports patient care in the lab and assists the Laboratory Manager with related tasks.

The role requires completion of Medical Assistant certification or listed Nursing Assistant qualifications, with potential phlebotomy certification within 6 months. Join a values-driven clinic focused on accessible, community-based care.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Medical Certificate of Completion of Medical Assistant.
• Must be Listed with the Division of Facility Services Department of Human Resources as a Nursing Assistant I and/or with the NC Board of Nursing as a Nursing Assistant II.

Responsibilities

• Part of the patient care team and performs tasks related to patient care.
• Performs venipuncture for laboratory specimens.
• Maintains proper decontamination of used instruments and supplies.
• Documents quality control data per established policy; uses the EHR to document patient care.
