Summary

The Western New York VA Healthcare System is seeking a highly qualified Full Time (Days) Registered Nurse to serve as a member of the Geriatric Extended Care Team located in Buffalo, New York.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

1. English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English.
2. Education: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion. Alternatively, individuals attending a master's level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree may qualify, pending licensure.
3. Foreign Graduates: Must possess current, full, active, and unrestricted registration. Foreign education requiring higher than an associate degree/entry level must undergo formal degree equivalency validation.
4. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in the U.S.
5. Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates meeting other requirements but lacking licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure, with possible extensions.
