Qualifications

  • Must have RN license and BCLS/ACLS certifications.
  • 1 year clinical nursing experience or RN residency required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process.
  • Assess and plan patient care, evaluate interventions.
  • Maintain continuity of patient care across shifts.

Registered Nurse Charge (RN) – Medical Surgical – PRN Nights

Work location: Texas Health Plano: 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Work hours: PRN Nights (7p-7a) rotating weekends/holidays

Medical Surgical unit Department Highlights:

  1. Med Surgical unit of 24 beds
  2. Our Nurses improve the quality of care for med surgical patients such as surgeries and stroke with multiple comorbidities.
  3. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

What you will need:

  1. Associate Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma
  2. BSN preferred
  3. RN (required)
  4. CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  5. 1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program (required)
  6. 2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
  7. RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (required)
  8. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (required)
  9. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (required)
  10. CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days (required)

What you will do:

  1. Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  2. Assesses the patient
  3. Plans the care of the patient
  4. Intervenes as appropriate
  5. Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  6. Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  7. Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  8. Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
