Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a registered nurse to join a dynamic Cardiac Electrophysiology team in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing patient care, with duties spanning circulator, scrub, or monitor during procedures and thorough patient preparation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification; ALS or PALS required per state regulations.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling.
• Ability to perform under stress in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Circulator, scrub, or monitor during cardiac procedures.
• Prepare patients and collect history and physical information.
• Administer medications and report abnormalities with critical judgment.
• Ensure safe hemostasis and manage vascular devices.
• Enter patient orders and charges accurately.
• Educate patients and families and provide perioperative instructions.
• May perform point-of-care testing and escort families as needed.

Job description

Join a dynamic Cardiac Electrophysiology team as a registered nurse, responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Key Duties Include

• Performing as a circulator, scrub, or monitor during procedures.
• Preparing patients and ensuring timely collection of history and physical information.
• Utilizing critical judgment to assess patients, administer medications, and report abnormalities.
• Ensuring safe hemostasis and managing vascular devices.
• Entering patient orders and charges accurately.
• Caring for critically ill patients, providing education to patients and families, and assisting with perioperative instructions.
• May perform point-of-care testing and escort families as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN). No prior experience required.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling.
• Ability to perform under stress and in a fast-paced environment.
• Required certifications include BLS, and either ALS or PALS per state regulations.

Additional information: Must hold valid licenses and certifications applicable to the work location (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin). The role involves variable day shifts, call rotation, and requires alertness and adherence to safety standards.
