Job summary

Essentia Health's Nurse Care Line seeks a licensed RN to provide triage and health advice by phone, documenting calls in real time and handling prescription refills per protocol. You may assist with patient transfers and transitional care for discharged patients, using ambulatory software.

The role includes an evening shift (1:00 PM start) with remote work options, and requires current RN licensure in ND, MN, or WI and ability to obtain licensure in all three states within three months.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in ND, MN, and/or WI at hire.
• Ability to obtain RN license in all 3 states within 3 months.
• Evening shift hours starting 1:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Provides triage and health advice by phone to patients, consumers, and clients. Utilizes computerized Barton Schmitt /David Thompson evidence based triage protocols to assist in assessing patients’ symptoms to arrive at a patient disposition. Also receives requests for information on medical conditions, medications, diagnostic tests, and prescription refills. All calls are documented electronically in real time. In addition, responsibilities include processing prescription refill requests received from pharmacies and patients, utilizing the Essentia Health primary care refill protocol. Will assist with the coordination of patient transfers from referring facilities calling in to the Essentia Health STAT doc line. May also participate in transitional care calls to patients who have been discharged from an Essentia Health hospital. Works with ambulatory computer software systems. Supports Essentia Health East, Central and West markets.

Education Qualifications

Hours will vary starting at 1pm to 4pm evening shift.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Current RN license in the state of North Dakota, Minnesota, and/or Wisconsin upon hire
• Ability to obtain RN license in all 3 states within 3 months of hire
