Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiac Telemetry on a full-time night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), 36 hours weekly. The 28-bed Telemetry unit provides Med/Surg level care with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio and opportunities for education and leadership growth.

Required: Nursing Diploma or ASN, Texas RN license, BCLS, ACLS, CPI within 90 days, and 1 year RN experience or RN residency; telemetry/Med/Surg experience preferred.

Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7p - 7a shift

Department Highlights

• 28 bed Telemetry Department provides telemetry and Med/Surg level of care for the general medical/surgical, endocrine GI/renal patient population ages Adult to Geriatric - 5:1 patient to nurse ratio on days and 5:1 on nights working 12-hour shifts - MAGNET facility - Level III Trauma Center - Enjoy self-scheduling to help with work/life balance. - Excellent opportunities for educational and career growth including advancement opportunities in leadership

Here’s what you need

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS - within 90 days of hire required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• Current Telemetry and/or Med/Surg experience preferred

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

• The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
• The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process assesses the patient plans the care of the patient intervenes as appropriate evaluates the effectiveness of interventions Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
