Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Fulltime Night shifts in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Baptist South. New hires are eligible for a $3,750 sign-on bonus. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, coordinate with the care team, and educate patients and families.

Required AS in Nursing, RN license, BLS; ACLS within 6 months for certain EDs, PALS within 1 year for certain EDs. Cardiac/Telemetry experience preferred. Hospital setting experience a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing (Licensed Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months for Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
• PALS required within 1 year for Free Standing EDs and WCH EDs

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with medical or surgical conditions using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and plans of care.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate care with physicians and ancillary staff.
• Participate in staff meetings and unit activities

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services.

• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
• Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.

Education/Degree Required

Associate of Science in Nursing Or

Degree Preferred

Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS)

Experience

• 1-2 years Cardiac Experience Preferred
• 1-2 years Telemetry Experience
• Hospital Experience

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.
