Beloit Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care/ICU at Beloit Memorial Hospital. The role focuses on delivering critical care for adult ICU patients and coordinating care within a high-stakes environment.

The position requires nursing graduation from an accredited program, WI licensure, and certification timelines for BLS, ACLS, and other relevant trainings. Sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• State licensure required (WI or multistate).
• BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, NIHSS, ASLS, glucometer and moderate sedation training within specified timelines.
• Glucometer and sedation trainings to be completed within defined periods.
• Strong communication and counseling abilities, with ability to react calmly in emergencies.

Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Cardiac ICU with immediate openings for a Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit is responsible for managing the care of adult critically ill patients. In this position the ICU Registered Nurse will deliver critical care therapies and interventions. The ICU Registered Nurse coordinates, supervises and provides care for patients within the framework of the well/illness continuum.

Critical Care/ICU Registered Nurse

• Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
• Effectively plans patient care with patient and family involvement.
• Consistently implements the patient's plan of care.
• Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
• Provides patient/family education appropriately.
• Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
• Actively participates in Quality Improvement program.
• Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
• Completes documentation according to policy.
• Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
• Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
• Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to meet patient's needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
• State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
• Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Telemetry trained within 6 months of hire.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• ASLS certification within 12 months of hire.
• Glucometer training within 6 months of mire.
• Moderate sedation training within 6 months of hire.
• CRRT, IABP, Cardiothoracic surgery trained within 12 months of hire.
• Requires excellent communication and counseling technique.
• Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
