Job summary

Henry Ford Health Genesys in Grand Blanc, MI is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab. This full-time role runs 6:30am - 5:00pm with on-call (30-minute response) covering weeknights, weekends and holidays. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered, plus shift differentials and market pay increases.

The position includes leading and coordinating patient care, administering meds and IV therapies, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, efficient discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN credentialed in Michigan required within 2 months of hire.
• BLS provider certification required within 3 months of hire; instructor allowed.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program; cath lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care per standards and patient goals.
• Develop multidisciplinary care plans promoting patient rights, dignity, culture, and needs.
• Educate patients/families on treatment plans, medications, safety, discharge instructions, and self-care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other interventions per policy.
• Monitor vital signs, labs, pain, intake/output, and glucose; respond to changes in condition.
• Assist with catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, IV therapy, and procedure prep.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, staff, families, and community to ensure discharge planning.
• Respond to emergencies using protocols and available equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Promote safety, infection control, confidentiality, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership and support to team members; foster a respectful, collaborative environment.

Education

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing

BLS provider certification (AHA)

Graduate of an approved RN nursing program

General Summary

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established standards, clinical practice guidelines, and patient care goals.
• Develop and coordinate multidisciplinary plans of care while promoting patient rights, dignity, culture, preferences, and expressed needs.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety measures, discharge instructions, and self-care needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other therapeutic interventions according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor patient physiological status, including vital signs, lab results, pain levels, intake/output, and blood glucose, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
• Perform and assist with nursing procedures including catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, IV therapy, and patient preparation for procedures and surgery.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, hospital staff, patients, families, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations through timely intervention, use of emergency equipment, and adherence to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, patient education, and outcomes.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, confidentiality, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members while fostering a respectful, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire date or transfer date required.
• Certified BLS provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained with 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Or, Certified Instructor.
• Education: Requires a graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
• Previous Cath Lab experience preferred
