Job summary

UCSF Medical Center is seeking a qualified RN for obstetric labor and delivery coverage, reporting to the Birth Center leadership and aligning with Women’s Health and Adult Services. The role requires clinical expertise across antepartum, labor and delivery, and post-partum care, with the ability to adapt to multiple UCSF locations and teams.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years in inpatient labor and delivery, maintains California RN licensure, and demonstrates strong patient-centered

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent full-time clinical RN labor and delivery experience in an inpatient setting including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum and well baby.
• Carry out established nursing procedures, and perform nursing care for patients with complex needs.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Zion, Mission Bay, as well as satellite locations throughout the Bay Area, with an annual operating budget of $175 million. The mission of the UCSF Department of OBGYN & Reproductive Sciences is to improve the lives and health of all women through excellence, innovation and leadership in Patient Care, Scientific Discovery, Education, Advocacy. "Leading the way in women's health." The Mission Bay Birth Center includes 9 LDRP rooms, 24 Post Partum rooms, 12 Antepartum rooms and 9 triage bays. This position reports directly to the Unit Director of the Birth Center, under Women's Health and Adult Services.

Job Summary

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of recent nursing experience including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum, and well baby.
• Prior MedSurg, TCU, ICU, step down experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced EFM
