Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Greater New Orleans is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and direct patient care for adults and seniors in a psychiatric setting. You will assess, plan, and implement individualized care while ensuring safe medication administration and thorough documentation.

The role requires an active RN license, CPR certification, and a willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a high-stress environment. Sponsorships for RNs are offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Valid Compact licenses accepted.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• One year inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.
• CPR certification and Oceans approved de-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Lead milieu management and direct patient care activities of nursing staff.
• Assess patients using the nursing process to formulate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications safely and provide patient education on prescribed meds.
• Document patient symptoms, responses, and progress accurately.
• Coordinate with team to ensure continuity of care across shifts.
• Float among clinical services and support staff as needed.
